French Experience
10/10/2008

On Friday 3rd October, Years 5 & 6 went on a school trip to France with Mrs Long, Mrs Dolding-Smith and Madame Cliff. When we arrived we went to Nausicaa, a sea life centre where some sea lions performed to us – it was so cute. We then went to have a look at the fish. We saw lots of tropical fish, sharks, jellyfish and a little ‘Nemo’.

We left there and travelled to the Chateau, where we were staying; we had to hurry as we were late for supper.

After supper, we met our instructors for the night, they were called Amy, Martin and Ben. We were shown around the Chateau and given the codes for our bedrooms.

On Saturday, we went to the market in the morning. We were ready to go to the sweet factory and the supermarket, but we couldn’t because the coach broke down! Instead we did archery, fencing and initiative exercises, which were quite fun.

On Sunday we went to Aqualaud, a massive swimming centre with lots of slides. There was one ride called ‘The Black Hole’, which was really scary. We then went to the sweet factory which was fun because the man put a mixture onto a plate, which was boiling hot. After supper, we went to the dining hall to do our last activity, which was a bin bag fashion parade.

On the last day we went to a Goats’ Cheese Farm and a Chocolate Factory and then came home.

A big thank you to Mrs Long, Mrs Dolding-Smith and Madame Cliff for their hard work and commitment in caring for all of the pupils’ needs.

It was a most satisfactory trip and full of exciting visits and experiences.
