The theme for Business Enterprise Scheme this year has been sustainability.

Farringtons Year 12 Business Enterprise companies have been making and selling homemade cakes this year and have raised almost £2000, with more sales still to come, for MRDF charities.

The girls are now embarking upon a new venture which is the renovation and planting of the pond and surrounding area, including growing vegetables on the adjacent ‘allotment’ site. Next year, they also hope to start work on the nature trail and woodland area.

The Business Enterprise students would appreciate offers of plants, tools, gardening gloves, seeds, bird boxes and even any help that parents could offer.

The end product will be an excellent teaching resource for all ages and for many different subjects within the School.

Since this idea was decided upon, the Government has announced that it wants all schools to become sustainable by 2020 so we are therefore ‘ahead of the game’.
