SKI TRIP TO AOSTA VALLEY
A very excited coach full of 9, 10, 11 and 12 year olds left Farringtons early Saturday evening to start their very much awaited ski holiday. A quiet night’s sleep on the coach and breakfast en route before arriving in Italy at midday for a holiday adventure never experienced before by Farringtons girls.
We all knew that the snow reports were not too good. Parents said, " Ooh Mrs Long there is not much snow, what will you do? But Interski came to the rescue!!!!! A resort, Cervinia further up the valley had such huge snowfalls that Interski transported us there daily for some of the most breathtaking scenery, skiing for everyone, and happy little faces with the amount of snow that met their eyes once they had got there!!
The Matterhorn stood majestically right beside us and with the clear blue skies it was definitely the most awesome sight. Mrs Wood has many photos of the many different views of the highest mountain in Europe.
The runs were plentiful and challenging for all and I am proud to say that all the girls skied everyday and we did not have any visits to the Medical Centre! Everyone skied from the top of the mountain; a great achievement!!!!.
Après ski activities included a quiz night, disco, bingo, pizza night, bowling, a visit to the Nike factory, and a rather large supermarket, where the chocolate was overflowing in our trolleys!
Each evening we came back to the Hotel to enjoy a three course meal and then to our beds after an action packed day. On the last evening, the Ski Instructors visited our hotel for the Presentation evening.
On a final note, I would like to share with you, that everyone spoke very highly of the girls behaviour and manners and what a delight it was to have them in the resort. Well done Farringtons girls - you were absolute stars!
