Farringtons Donates Shoeboxes for Children in Kosova

Over the last few weeks we have been filling decorated shoeboxes with: toiletries, crayons and paper, hats and gloves, small toys and a few sweets. The charity, Smile International, delivers these gifts to children in orphanages around the World to bring them joy at Christmas.

On Monday 7th November the Revd Clive Doubleday spoke to us in Chapel about Smile’s work in Kosova. We watched a film made by student volunteers that showed the poor living conditions for children and the grateful smiles on children’s faces who have received shoeboxes in the past. It made us think how fortunate we are and we hope that our boxes will make a difference to these children as they will be the only Christmas presents they will have. Following the assembly, Year 6 House and Vice Captains helped load the shoeboxes into Revd Doubleday’s car. We counted over 200 shoeboxes and Revd Doubleday was very grateful.
