Farringtons School

Bus Service

Farringtons School offers a safe and reliable minibus service for pupils in Years 1 to 13, covering nine convenient routes across the area. Whether your child lives nearby or further out, we strive to get them to and from school with ease.

Pupils are picked up in the mornings and returned after school in the afternoons.

Collection times are approximate and dependent upon traffic, but the driver will ensure that the minibus does not depart any earlier than the designated pick-up time.

We do our best to ensure pick up/drop off points are as close to home as possible, but this is not always achievable and new pupils to the service may have to make their way to an existing pick-up point. Please note that the school reserves the right to change routes as necessary.

Whilst we always try to accommodate as many pupils as possible, we cannot guarantee places on our minibuses until the beginning of the new academic year. Therefore, we advise parents that they should not accept a place at Farringtons if they hope to rely on the minibus service for travel to and from school.

The service is very popular and nearly all of the routes are full for the current academic year. If you would like to add your child’s name to the waiting list, please email Mr Vince Grima.

Safety

Our friendly drivers are experienced and checked through the Disclosure & Barring Service.

Please note, our drivers can only be contacted either the night before or before they depart school at 06.30am as they are advised not to answer calls whilst driving. We ask that you respect this and avoid ringing or texting the driver to inform them that the student is running late.

Drivers register pupils and ensure that they all wear seatbelts throughout the journey.

Any Year 1 – 6 pupils will be escorted to and from the Prep School and a safe meeting point will be arranged for Senior pupils. All pupils will be assisted on and off the bus as necessary.

Code Of Conduct

Pupils on the bus are representing Farringtons and are expected to behave themselves. They should have respect for fellow passengers and obey instructions from the drivers at all times.

Any pupil who behaves inappropriately whilst on the bus should realise that the right to use the Farringtons School minibus service may be withdrawn.

Cost

The minibus service is a non-profit making venture. The cost is £42.00 per pupil, per week. Fees are added to the school account, unless alternative arrangements are agreed. Unfortunately, there can be no refunds for any missed journeys, including illness or after school activities.

Half a term’s notice is required if you no longer wish to use the service. Please note the school bus does not operate on induction days.
