A LEVEL RESULTS DAYCongratulations to our Year 13 pupils on their fantastic A Level and BTEC results! There was a real buzz in the morning as pupils collected their grades. We are so proud of their hard work, with 29% achieving A*–A grades! From securing places at top Russell Group universities to embarking on exciting apprenticeships, their dedication and the support of our brilliant teaching staff has truly paid off. Wishing all our pupils the very best as they take their next steps!

There was huge energy and excitement in school on 20th August as our Year 11 pupils came in to collect their GCSE results. As a cohort they have worked incredibly hard and we were delighted to see them celebrating the best results in the school’s history by all measures.
Over 50% of grades were 9-7 (A*/A), compared to 39.4% last year and an average for the past four years of 31%. Equally pleasing was the fact that 73% of grades were 9-6 (60% in 2025) and 96.5% were 9-4 (92.7% last year). 24 pupils achieved 7 or more GCSEs at grades 7-9, a remarkable accomplishment for a wide ability school.
This continued improvement year on year very much reflects the school’s academic ambition and our desire to see every pupil fulfil their true potential. It is also testament to the hugely dedicated teachers whose hard work, extra sessions and unwavering, personalised support have really paid off. The pupils can now look ahead to their sixth form studies with real confidence.
Many congratulations Year 11 – we are hugely proud of you all!

We are delighted to be taking part in the National Year of Reading with Book Trust’s Bookbuzz Secondary School Reading Programme.
Every pupil in Year 7 will receive a free book of their choice from a collection of 16 titles.
The programme encourages pupils to browse a selection of high-quality titles, evaluate their options and choose a book they genuinely want to read.
By supporting reading for pleasure, we aim to foster a positive impact on reading, spark social conversations about books with friends, family and teachers and develop vocabulary, comprehension and engagement with learning.
WELCOMING OUR NEW JOINERSOn 4th September, we were thrilled to welcome our new Year 7 and Year 12 pupils for their induction day. Year 7 cooled off in the afternoon with a sweet surprise—a visit from an ice cream van!

The Floreat Programme is all about encouraging our pupils to discover new passions, build resilience and flourish beyond the classroom.
Introducing Global CitizenshipWe are thrilled to launch our new Global Citizenship initiative, designed to empower our pupils to become compassionate, informed and proactive members of a connected world.
Through this programme, pupils will explore critical global issues, engage with diverse cultures and build the critical thinking and leadership skills needed to make a positive impact both locally and internationally.
Together, we are preparing our young people not just to navigate the future, but to shape it for the better.
TILE BARN TRIPOur Year 8 pupils had a fantastic time at Tile Barn! From tackling high-energy obstacle courses to reaching new heights on the climbing wall, it was an incredible bonding session for the entire year group. Take a look at some of the photos from the trip below:
NETBALL SUCCESSOn Monday 12th October, our Year 8 girls travelled to Gad’s Hill for their first netball fixture of the year. Both the A and B teams worked extremely hard, focusing on their communication and movement across the court. Gad’s Hill offered tough opposition, with the score lines remaining close throughout both matches.
Both teams demonstrated some fantastic technical skills, with our GS and GA on both teams, Chloe, Kyra, Kiran and Hanaa, rarely missing a shot. Their excellent shooting helped secure a 10 – 6 win for the A team and a 4 – 4 draw for the B team.
All the girls have made tremendous improvements throughout Year 7 and into Year 8, so we are looking forward to seeing what they can achieve throughout this year of Netball.

Great to see our Year 9 pupils settling so well back into the swing of the term!
Today, pupils headed to the Library for a lesson, exploring our vast collection of physical books, eBooks, magazines and audiobooks.
Whether turning physical pages or listening on the go, our Library remains at the heart of fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Year 9 trip to LegolandOur Year 9 pupils had an amazing day at LEGOLAND this term, building, testing and riding rollercoasters while exploring the engineering behind them. Jack Petchey AwardDanielle in Year 9 has been awarded a very special award from her netball club, Telstars: the Jack Petchey Award. Danielle has shown consistent dedication to netball, both in and out of school, attending netball club regularly with a fantastic attitude. She should be extremely proud of herself and this well-deserved achievement.
Telstars wrote a lovely comment explaining why Danielle deserved this award:
“Danielle always trains and plays to the best of her ability. She is hardworking and always has a desire to win. A great listener, she takes new ideas on board from her coaches and puts them into practice. Danielle never gives up, very rarely misses a match or training session, and is totally committed and a loyal member of Telstars NC.”

Last academic year, as part of a House competition, all pupils were invited to design a solar system-themed bear for Ellenor Hospice. The competition aimed to raise awareness of the charity, with the winning design being transformed into a life-sized bear sculpture and displayed as part of a public exhibition across the Dartford area.
We are delighted to share that Elise was selected as the winning pupil from Farringtons School. In recognition of her creativity and achievement, she received an art pack and a £50 Amazon gift voucher.
Congratulations to Elise on this fantastic accomplishment. We encourage all pupils to take advantage of the many competitions, challenges and enrichment opportunities available at Farringtons, as they provide an excellent chance to showcase talents, develop new skills and contribute to the wider community.
DIGITAL FUTURESFarringtons is thrilled to announce the launch of Digital Futures! As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the landscape of work and everyday life, how are we equipping young people to thrive? In our latest news article, we explore how our curriculum and digital approach prepare our Senior School pupils not just to navigate technological change, but to lead with critical thinking, ethical awareness and adaptability.
YEAR 10 MOCK TELEPHONE INTERVIEWSDuring their PSHE lessons, our Year 10 pupils took part in a live exercise where they practised making phone calls to potential employers about work experience placements. What they did not realise was that the “employers” on the other end of the line were actually secret Farringtons staff members!
It proved to be fantastic practice for building real-world communication skills. After each call ended, the class and teacher led a constructive debrief—offering positive feedback and targeted suggestions for improvement, particularly around confidence, clarity, and professionalism.
A huge well done to Year 10 for stepping out of their comfort zones!
SCIENCE IN YEAR 11Our Year 11 pupils have been diving into organic chemistry, discovering how long-chain hydrocarbons are broken down through catalytic cracking.
To bring the process to life, Mr Foster demonstrated how heating mineral wool soaked in liquid paraffin alongside a catalyst produces smaller, far more useful alkenes and alkanes.

On Tuesday 15th September, pupils from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 represented the school at a cross-country competition held at Skinners School in Tunbridge Wells. Competing against over 100 pupils in their age categories on a particularly tough course, our runners showed outstanding determination and resilience throughout the event. Special congratulations goes to:
– Jessie (Year 9), who achieved an excellent 3rd place in the Inter Girls Division
– Isabella (Year 10), who secured an impressive 5th place finish
– Niamh (Year 7) also performed brilliantly, finishing 14th while competing against both Year 7 and Year 8 girls

All pupils represented the school with pride and should be extremely proud of their achievements.

Recognising, sharing and celebrating the cultures within our community is such an important part of creating that genuine “home from home” feeling in boarding.
WYVERN WINS BOARDAs part of ensuring our boarding is a warm, caring inclusive community, boarders were asked to write some of their favourite things about their fellow boarders. We now have a Wyvern Wins board and each student has a copy of their own name in their rooms of a reminder that together we make an amazing boarding community.
