During the final week of the summer holidays children from Years 6-8 (plus some captains selected from Year 10) met Mr Suverkrop, Mrs Reynolds and Mrs Medcraft at Gatwick Airport to board a flight to Bordeaux in the South of France for a week of Watersports.
The trip was organised through a company offering water based activity holidays across three campsites in France. The children had the opportunity to try a full range of water sports, from kayaking to white water rafting and dart sailing to windsurfing. All of the activities were enjoyed immensely! You can now find some pictures in our galleries.
The tents provided by the camp came fully equipped with a bed frame and mattress and the camp had excellent toilet and showering facilities. The camp chef provides 3 healthy meals a day, including some themed evenings. French Night was a particular highlight with the children sampling snails and frogs legs. Within the wider camp resort children also had access to a small supermarket, waffle bar and take-away pizza shop.
Overall, the trip was yet again a success and many children are looking forward to coming again next summer! Mr Suverkrop will be holding assemblies in both the Junior and Senior schools in the coming weeks to inform pupils about the trip.
If your child is interested in coming on the Watersports Trip in 2018 please get in contact with Mr Suverkrop.
