‘That Time of Year Again’
As the end of the academic year draws nearer, Farringtons refuses to slow down. As usual we ended the Summer Term with plenty of lovely things to shout about. Staff, students and parents alike gathered in their best dress as the mountainous pile of awards and prizes were distributed amongst the throngs of excitable pupils.
In both the Junior and Senior Prize Giving ceremonies, our guest speakers praised Farringtons and its pupils for creating a culture of high expectation and success. Reverend Dr Paul Glass, who spoke to our Junior audience and June Milligan, whose address rang out to the Senior School, emphasized the necessity to be adaptable in the pursuit of our goals.
In a year where much has been made of the projects and future aspirations of the School, it seemed pertinent to remind pupils to dream big, as not that long ago, the prosperous present that Farringtons finds itself in today seemed, unimaginable.
A tirade of gratitude and contentment poured from this year’s cohort of Junior and Senior Head Boys and Girls, which was then followed by gasps of excitement as their successors were revealed. And as the marquee emptied, young faces brimming with smiles, spoke breathlessly about the year that they had had and more importantly, about the possibilities and challenges that their futures at this wonderful School give rise to.
