Menus

Fueling Bright Minds

At Farringtons School, we believe that nourishing, delicious food is essential for happy pupils and academic success. To ensure this, our dedicated, in-house Catering Team crafts an imaginative, weekly changing menu using fresh, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Furthermore, we are committed to fostering a shared, positive lunchtime experience for all pupils. Therefore, we do not permit packed lunches, except in exceptional circumstances.

Fresh, Delicious & Nutritious

All dishes are prepared freshly on-site, ensuring exceptional quality and balanced nutrition. Pupils enjoy a wide selection daily:

  • Hot and cold options
  • Hearty soups
  • Vegetarian dishes
  • Crisp, fresh salads
  • Tempting desserts, yoghurts and fresh fruit

Our seasonal menus keep dining exciting, featuring familiar favourites like our vegetable curry and roast dinner with all the trimmings, as well as new and inventive discoveries. Pupil favourites, for example, include Chef Glen’s famous jerk chicken and Lindy’s amazing brownies!

Small Changes, Big Impact

We believe that healthy eating should not mean compromising on taste. Our Catering Team is constantly innovating to boost the nutritional value of our meals through “stealthy” health swaps:

Catering To Dietary Needs

Beyond taste, we take dietary needs seriously, accommodating allergies, intolerances, and religious beliefs. However, lunch is not our only focus, Prep School pupils enjoy a nutritious snack at break time, while our boarding houses savour a delicious breakfast and hot dinner in the Dining Hall.

Theme Day Tuesday

Every fourth Tuesday, our Catering Team hosts a special themed menu to add fun and flavour to the week. Previously, popular themes have included a Nando’s-inspired menu and much-loved old Farringtons classics.

SUSTAINABILITY

We are proud to partner with Olio, an incredible organisation dedicated to fighting food waste. Olio collects unused food and redistributes it to individuals and families who need it most. Thanks to this collaboration, we were able to provide meals to 1,893 households in 2025 alone, making a tangible difference in our community.

Pupil Voice

We empower young voices through our Food Committee, led by the pupils themselves. This committee meets regularly to discuss new menu ideas and provide feedback, which ensures that their peers’ preferences and suggestions are always considered in our meal planning.
