DAY 1

What a wonderful day for our Year 6 pupils on the first day of their amazing French residential trip. First, they enjoyed an exciting journey on the ferry. Following that, they went on a historic tour around Honfleur. Finally, they concluded the day with a delicious dinner in the magnificent Chateau du Baffy!

DAY 2

First, they embarked on an immersive day in French culture; they visited Bayeux Cathedral, followed by the glorious market. They sampled some delicious cheese and crêpes, before viewing the magnificent Bayeux tapestry. Lastly, they ended the day reflecting upon the Normandy landings, as they progressed to Arromanches.

DAY 3

A day contemplating the events surrounding the Normandy landings. The children began at the British Normandy War Memorial, before moving on to view a German artillery battery. Following lunch on Omaha beach, they finally proceeded to American Normandy Cemetery for a final moment of reflection.

DAY 4

Today Year 6 experienced a true ‘tour gastronomique’! They started off at the Caramel Factory, followed by the Goats Cheese Farm. The children even got the opportunity to feed the young kids. They ended the day by visiting the cider farm; the children tasted the delicious apple juice!
