Farringtons Junior School runners were raring to go for the event on Wednesday 16 September.
Colfes, St Olaves, St Christphers, Merton Court, West Lodge, Breaside, Blackheath High and Babington House came along to take part, with 32 pupils from each school participating in the cross country event.
Years 3 and 4 ran 1,200m and Years 5 and 6 ran 1,800m around the School grounds. This is quite a distance for little legs and it was made even tougher by the pouring rain soaking the ground, but it wouldn't be proper cross country without it. Every pupil made a fantastic effort, pushing through in spite of the weather and each individual winner received a medal – a different school won each of these out of the 8 races.
Mr Jack Charlton, our Junior School Head, presented the awards and there were also team certificates, Year certificates and an overall school winner. Farringtons School won the overall trophy this year, so well done team!
Congratulations to all of the competitors and thank you to everyone that came out to support them in the downpour.
