Farringtons School Applauds outstanding A Level and BTEC Results
After what has been an unprecedented year, Upper Sixth pupils and staff had every reason to celebrate their A Level and BTEC results released today. The fantastic grades achieved by our students have allowed them to take up places at prestigious universities, including Oxford, Durham, UCL, King’s College London, Exeter, Nottingham and Birmingham. They have chosen to read a diverse array of subjects, ranging from Biology, Architecture, Law, Biomedical Engineering, English Literature, Politics and International Relations, Computer Science, Accounting and Finance, Fashion Design and Marketing.
Despite having to study remotely for a third of their courses, the superb online learning provision ensured their studies had as little interruption as possible. The results, over half of which were A*/A or equivalent, are hugely deserved and testament to the determination of the students themselves and their inspirational and committed teachers.
Head, Mr David Jackson, said: “We are extremely proud of our Upper Sixth leavers and I am delighted that the upward trend has continued with this year’s excellent set of exam results. Against a media narrative of undeserved grade inflation, we must not lose sight of the tremendous resilience shown by our Year 13 pupils over the past eighteen months. The success our pupils have enjoyed is a fitting outcome in every sense and it is very pleasing to see that all their hard work, as well as that of their teachers, has really paid off. We wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their lives”.
