Results Day

GCSE Results Day Programme Thursday 20 August

8.00 am - Results will be emailed to students via their school email address.

9.00 am - School opens to students wanting to collect their results. Weather permitting, this will be done outside the main school entrance, or in the Library if it is wet. Students, staff (and accompanying parents) will need to socially distance, and wear face coverings if inside.

If you or any member of your household are displaying any symptoms of coronavirus, you should not collect your results in person.

The candidate may request that someone collect their results on their behalf.  To do this the candidate will need to email [email protected] stating that they authorise a representative to collect their results.  The candidate will need to name the person who will be collecting their results and on results day the representative will need to present their ID so that we can verify their identity.  Please note that we can only accept this request from the candidate and not from parents/guardians.

On Thursday 20 August, for those staying on at Sixth Form, you will need to confirm your subject choices with Ms Jackson or Mr Garwood.

Centre Assessed Grades / Appeals

Full information regarding the Farringtons School process can be found here.

You can only appeal if you think there has been an error in the process. You can’t appeal just because you do not agree with the grade you have received.

You may not:

  • appeal directly to the awarding body.
  • challenge your Centre Assessment Grade or Rank through an appeal.

You may:

  • Ask us to check if we made an error when submitting your Centre Assessment Grade or Rank.

Farringtons School will be able to submit an appeal to the awarding body if there is evidence to suggest that:

  • the school made an error when submitting your Centre Assessment Grade or rank order to the Awarding Body
  • the awarding body made a mistake in the operation of the standardisation model where the wrong data was used to calculate results.
  • the awarding body made an administrative error in the issuing of results.
  • The decision to appeal will be made by the school and will be based on available evidence.  Without evidence an appeal will not be submitted to the awarding body. If Farringtons School decides not to appeal, we will explain the reason for our decision in person or in writing. Further information about appeals is available in our Examination Results Process Policy.

Appointments to discuss grades and appeals will be available from Friday 14 August. They can take place remotely or in person at Farringtons, social distancing measures are likely to be in place for any meetings in School.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries regarding results day.

Kind Regards
