Here is an article written by our very own Mrs Long, reagrding the school's recent Why Not Run Event success.
"This was the fifth and best Why Not Run. This year there were five races with the addition of the 1k Year 2 and under race. This was great to see as children as young as three ran the course. The event was fortunate to have the help of some princesses and very kind pupils from the school. The awards were presented by footballing star Rio Ferdinand and we thank him very much for his support with this event.
The weather was perfect! The event saw new stalls (along with the stalls that we have every year); bouncy castle, the bean machine, bouncing biotic, Zebadee Performing Arts, Up and Running, raffle stall, ice cream van, flower stall, popcorn and chocolate fountain, smoothie bikes with COYO coconut milk yoghurt in delicious flavours and our sweet stall. The bacon baguettes were simply scrumptious!
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this event such a success, especially the grounds staff, Steve Chandler and Steve Thornett, the race course markers, Rob Baker, and Mr Cornick, and finally, the staff from school and the WHY NOT RUN team for all their hard work in ensuring the event ran smoothly. Thank you to Mr Young for his support with this event. We have raised over £10,000 with more funds still to be added. Finally a huge thank you to all the runners for taking part.
A final reminder that it is not too late to donate via the Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/whynotrun2016- BenDaniels."
