Psychology
In association with Moorhouse Black, Farringtons is running AS Psychology as a distance learning course.

What does AS and A2 Psychology cover?
You will learn to understand the reasons and motivations behind human behaviour and the facets of abnormal behaviour.

Issues specifically related to Psychology, such as ethics, culture and gender are discussed during the course, providing insight into other areas of society.

This course will be extremely beneficial for any career and for everyday life. It is particularly relevant for careers in health, welfare, medicine, law, teaching, marketing, human resources, general management, the police and the media.

What does taking the course involve?
In our distance learning course, students sample what life will be like at University by taking responsibility for their studies.  Each week a one hour video conference session is held with a Personal Tutor who ensures that they undertand the areas studied in the previous week and sets work for the following week.

Work is closely monitored and students are able to email or telephone the Tutor whenever they have a problem, even if this falls outside normal school hours.

The Video Conference Tutor is in contact several times each week with the Farringtons Link Teacher, so if any problems arise they are quickly resolved.

One girl who is studying this subject, Emily Salathiel, wrote in the School Newsletter how much she is enjoying her studies and how studying in this way will help her secure in due course, her chosen University place because she has demonstrated that she is self-motivated.
