KEY STAGE THREE
In Year 9 we study:
- Different types of writing such as letters and leaflets
- How to change your style to suit different audiences and purposes
- Poems and prose
- A Shakespeare play
Our Shakespeare play this year is 'Much Ado About Nothing'. We study the play through reading, acting and sometimes even dancing! We look at the characters, the plot and the language.
Reading
Year Nine class readers include the spookily atmospheric 'Woman In Black' and the thought-provoking 'Noughts and Crosses'.
Recently the flourishing Year Nine Reading Group has read:
- Jane Eyre
- A Gathering Light
- Goodnight Mr Tom
- The Speckled Band
Each summer we shadow the Carnegie medal Book Awards for Children’s Fiction.
