ACCOUNTING

This subject was introduced into the Business Studies Department in September 2004 to complement our already successful Business Studies Course and to give girls with a leaning towards Mathematics an additional numerical subject to study at A Level.

The course is taught by an experienced teacher who is a Chartered Accountant and was formerly a Director of one of the two major specialist Accountancy Tuition Centres in the City of London. She also has been an examiner in this subject at A Level.

We were recently placed first in the UK for our teaching and examination results at AS Level ahead of every other independent school. The award was sponsored by the publication 'The Good Schools Guide' and was a remarkable achievement.  

Throughout 2007 girls have made excellent progress and achieved outstanding results in examinations taken in June 2007 with the majority of AS students achieving the top grades.

The course is proving very popular with current Year 11 girls who are at present considering their A Level options. The class may be split into two groups, so great is the demand for this subject, to ensure that all girls get the individual attention that the school prides itself on giving.
