Chapel

The Chapel is an integral part of life at Farringtons, where pupils in both the Junior and Senior School worship reguarly.

All Chapel worship is inclusive and no one should ever feel uncomfortable. A range of topics is covered which ensure the students are aware of local, national and world-wide issues which may affect them. Students are encouraged to tolerate, understand and respect each other.

MERLIN COMES TO CHAPEL

Merlin the Magician made the long journey from King Arthur’s Court in Camelot to Farringtons Chapel. Merlin demonstrated a number of spells and magical skills, which included drilling a hole into Mr Flack and pouring water through his torso in order to demonstrate that the hole went all the way through.     The point of having Merlin in our Chapel Service was to provide a contrast to the miracles of Jesus.  Jesus’ miracles, as presented in the New Testament were not merely magic tricks or a demonstration of power, but were gifts from God to ordinary people.  From his first miracle, the turning of water into wine, to his last, his resurrection from the dead, Jesus’ miracles were always for the benefit of others and not for himself.    This reminds us that the gifts we have received form God are not simply for ourselves but are to be shared with those around us.  Our charity work, our caring for the environment, our social responsibility is all part of this recognition that those gifts from God, which we enjoy, need to be shared among all his children.

Getting Married at Farringtons

The Farringtons Chapel is available for Marriage Services or for the Blessing of a Marriage previously solemnised. The Chapel is intimate and is ideal for small weddings, but equally it can accommodate up to 200 people.

Our extensive grounds are beautiful and are the ideal setting for wedding photographs.

The cost for a Marriage Service is currently £220.00, which includes the services of an organist. For an additional cost of £50 it may be possible to have the Farringtons School Choir in attendance.

For couples getting married in our Chapel, it may be possible to hire facilities for wedding breakfasts and receptions, costs available on request.
