On Saturday 2nd January, Mrs Long, Mr Dutton, Miss Wainwright and Miss Long took a group of Year 5 – 7 on a skiing trip to Courmayeur in Italy.
On Monday we met our instructors and off we went onto the slopes. I was very nervous, but very excited. That evening we all went bowling. It was great fun. Mr Dutton’s team won! After bowling, we visited the Nike factory and did some shopping. It was a very busy first day and we all slept well that night!
On Tuesday, after a hard day’s skiing, we went to a Pizza Restaurant. It was fantastic because every time we finished a pizza, another one arrived!
Other trips we enjoyed were going to the disco, ice cream parlour, visiting the creperie, the quiz evening and shopping in town.
On Friday, our ski instructors gave us a skiing test. I had to show the instructor all that I had learnt. I had to do ten plough turns and ski down a steep slope. Friday evening was the presentation evening and everyone received a certificate and badge.
Unfortunately Saturday was our last day and we had to say goodbye to Courmayeur and start our journey home. We all had a brilliant time and would like to thank the teachers for taking us on such a fantastic skiing holiday.
