Appointment of Nathan Close,
Deputy Head – Junior School, from September 2008

Farringtons is delighted to announce the appointment of Nathan Close as Deputy Head – Junior School from September 2008.

Born in the North-East, Nathan attended Durham University where he studied Theology, and is very proud of his northern roots! From there he moved 'over seas' to Ryde School on the Isle of Wight, before taking up the post of Head of Divinity and then Head of Juniors at Yardley Court School, Tonbridge.

Nathan is very much a 'team player' who has a passion for drama and sport. He has directed many Junior School productions, and has always insisted that there is no need for alarm when half his football team are up on stage in thick make-up and tights! Nathan enjoys coaching sport and he will be instrumental in the development of boys' games at Farringtons.

Nathan is also a strong advocate of outdoor pursuits and feels that children need the opportunity to be involved in a range of extra-curricular activities. He believes in maintaining high standards of discipline, and good manners from an early age, so that children can develop their academic potential and acquire skills to help them develop into responsible members of the wider community.

Nathan is looking forward to developing the co-educational environment, to ensure that Farringtons is progressive and remains a popular choice for parents.
