A FAMILY SCHOOL
“I am a part of all that I have met” – Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Staff and pupils work closely together to ensure that new pupils soon feel happy and confident in their new environment. The first port of call for any pupil concerns or anxieties is the Form Teacher and we actively encourage this line of communication. Parents may chat with their child’s Form Teacher at the beginning or end of every school day.
In addition, older pupils are encouraged to care for the children in year groups below them. Our system of “Playground Friends” provides valuable support to the staff supervising at break and lunch times.
If any medical issues arise, there is a trained nurse on hand during School hours. Medicines are kept safe for administering at the appropriate time and medical problems are dealt with quickly and efficiently in the Junior First Aid Room.
The staff and pupils enjoy a full two-course cooked lunch together at midday (salad and vegetarian options available). This time together is used not just for eating but to promote polite conversation and good table manners, which are encouraged at all times.
Twice weekly assemblies offer another opportunity for the entire Junior School community to come together to reinforce the values of the School and celebrate recent successes in all areas of School life.
Parents are welcomed to the Friday Class-led Assemblies as well as a wide range of formal and informal musical, dance, gymnastic and dramatic performances. All of these events help to foster a strong bond between School and home and provide parents with first-hand involvement and a valuable insight into the “Farringtons School Family”.
In short, at all times of the School day there is a watchful and caring adult presence amongst the pupils. The children’s safety and happiness are our highest priorities.
